Province welcomes Kim Lamberty as director of JPIC

March 16, 2020

Kim Lamberty has joined the staff of Society of the Sacred Heart, United States – Canada Province, as director of justice, peace and the integrity of creation (JPIC), as of March 16, 2020.

In this position, Lamberty, in collaboration with other groups and networks, will focus on many aspects of social change and integrate the three strands of the Society’s mission focus: justice, spirituality and education. Her office is located in Washington, D.C., at the Stuart Center, where the staff works for social justice through education, empowerment and partnership with others at the national and international level.

Lamberty brings more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing programs based in Catholic social teaching for use on university campuses and parishes across the United States. She has led dozens of immersion trips to Colombia, the U.S.-Mexico border and Israel/Palestine as part of her work for the Christian Peacemaker Teams. During the past nine years at Catholic Relief Services, she has partnered with many women’s congregations to help them design local and international programs that foster the integral human development of all those involved.

Lamberty earned a doctor of ministry from Catholic Theological Union and graduate degrees from Washington Theological Union and Columbia University.

This announcement comes with profound gratitude for the leadership and work done by Meg Causey, RSCJ, during this last year when our world has been filled with so many challenges. Sister Causey’s expertise, critical thinking, analysis and leadership have enhanced our collective understanding and shared responsibility for the work of JPIC. We thank her for her service and leadership.
